Princess Eugenie was seen grinning as she arrived for her wedding rehearsal – as speculation grows over her aunt Camilla not attending the ceremony.
The Prince of Wales will be flying solo at his niece’s wedding while his wife visits a small school near Balmoral, the Queen’s Scottish home.
Crathie Primary School’s 12 pupils will meet the Duchess of Cornwall during the longstanding commitment, which takes place at the same time as the wedding.
While the rest of the Royal Family will be enjoying the festivities at Windsor Castle, Camilla is understood to have not wanted to let the children down.
She is believed to have sent a handwritten apology letter to Eugenie explaining this.
Friends have reportedly said her absence was not calculated but due to an unavoidable clash.
Charles and Camilla are also hosting a long-planned weekend house party at Birkhall, their home on the Balmoral estate.
He will stay in Windsor for the post-wedding lunch hosted by the Queen but will return to Scotland in the afternoon, missing the black-tie dinner being thrown by his brother, Prince Andrew.
The Prince of Wales will also miss the Saturday afterparty at Royal Lodge in Great Windsor Park, the York family’s home where the dinner will be held.
Camilla is already in Scotland, and on Thursday joined a cookery class and painted with schoolchildren at Alford Community Campus in Aberdeenshire.
This afternoon, Princess Eugenie and her fiance Jack Brooksbank were seen arriving at Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel for a last-minute rehearsal ahead of their wedding tomorrow.
The bride-to-be was seen grinning as Mr Brooksbank drove while Prince Andrew, the Duchess of York, and Princess Beatrice followed in a car behind.
Eugenie then drove the happy couple back.
